I believe humanity has ultimately forgotten its connection with the natural world. I see this loss as a separation from the eternal, an exile from our source. In my work, I hope viewers find restoration and re-connection to nature through a conscious state of sacred remembrance, where each image becomes an invocation of the highest and deepest reality around us. I hope to open windows into this palpable infinity and bring out the immeasurable mystique of childhood wonder. The conceptual treatment of my subject matter and technical composition rewrites the raw and naked sensitivity of a new moment as a device to break through the forgetfulness, unapologetically portraying the brutal conditions that shape natural forms into being. In this, I hope the unfiltered beauty and savage order of nature bypass the mind and we can begin to see ourselves more clearly. My aim is to help others remember this intrinsic connection; that it is not so far away or entirely lost and that we are integral to nature and have a richly designed purpose in it. Each of my photographs is constructed without forced intent, allowing for the viewer to have multiple, even simultaneous, interpretations; a characteristic within my work that reflects the unadulterated and culturally unmodified experience of natural complexity that is often both deeply personal and universally transcendent.
